Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Your Taffie Safaris representative will meet you and begin your journey toward Kibale National Park.
Travel through Uganda's countryside, passing local communities, farms, plantations and changing landscapes before arriving near the forest.
Settle into your lodge and prepare for the following day's chimpanzee tracking experience.
Chimpanzee Tracking → Transfer Toward Bwindi
After breakfast, prepare for your first major primate encounter. Following the required briefing, enter the forest with your guides in search of habituated chimpanzee communities.
The forest experience can also reveal other primates, birds and signs of wildlife as you move through the ecosystem.
After the activity, continue toward southwestern Uganda and the Bwindi region.
Bwindi → Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Today is the defining experience of the journey. After breakfast, proceed to your designated gorilla trekking briefing point.
Enter Bwindi's ancient rainforest with trained guides and trackers as you search for a habituated mountain gorilla family.
Trek duration varies according to the location of the gorilla family, terrain and forest conditions. Once the gorillas are located, follow the applicable viewing guidelines and enjoy this rare wildlife encounter.
Return to your lodge after the trek to relax and reflect on the experience.
Bwindi → Scenic Journey Through Western Uganda
Enjoy breakfast before beginning your journey out of the Bwindi region.
Depending on your onward plans, the day can incorporate selected scenic viewpoints, community experiences or cultural stops.
Your safari specialist will structure the route around your departure schedule and preferred travel pace.
Return To Entebbe / Kampala → Departure
Enjoy breakfast before completing your journey back toward Entebbe or Kampala.
Depending on your international flight schedule, your private transfer can continue to Entebbe International Airport.

Gorilla trekking requires a reasonable level of fitness because forest terrain can be steep and trekking duration varies. Uganda Wildlife Authority states that gorilla tracking can last approximately 2–7 hours depending on the experience and conditions.
How long is chimpanzee tracking?
The tracking experience varies according to the movement of the chimpanzees, terrain and forest conditions. Current UWA guidelines provide for a maximum one-hour viewing period during normal chimpanzee tracking once the animals are located.
Are permits required?
Yes. Gorilla and chimpanzee activities are regulated within Uganda's protected areas. Taffie Safaris can assist with arranging the required permits and confirming availability for your preferred travel dates.
